PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION

MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY
Mahatma Gandhi University, established by Kerala State Legislative by Notification no 3431/Leg.C1/85/Law dated 17th April 1985, is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation council at B+ level.
Application form is to be properly filled and should be sent along with the Registration fee of Rs. 200/- by DD/MO in favour of the Administrator/ Principal, IIMS, Aiswarya Bldg., Valanjambalam, Kochi - 16. The registration fee will not be refunded even if ADMISSION IS NOT GRANTED.
After payment of fee, students will be informed of the opening date. Students should compulsorily report on the opening date itself.
Fees should be paid only at the office cash counter and receipt should be collected immediately.
Fees once paid in full or in part for a course will under no circumstances be refunded or adjusted to any other course or person.
Those who fail to pay the tuition fees in time will be charged an additional amount of  Rs. 50/- as fine each week thereafter.
For any matter not governed by the rules & regulations given in this prospectus new rules will be laid down as and when necessary and the same will be intimated to the students through the notice board. All students are liable to abide by them.
On admission every student will be supplied an identity card to be carried always and presented for inspection when demanded. Loss of the card should be reported immediately to the Principal who may issue a new card on payment of the prescribed fee.
Any dispute pertaining to the above will come under the jurisdiction of Cochin only.
Caution deposit should be paid at the time of admission.
Lab fee should be paid at the time of admission.
ELIGIBILITY DOCUMENTS
1. University will demand original documents for verification of eligibility of the candidates. Non submission of the same would automatically lead to cancellation of admission.

Eligibility

Eligibility documents: - Attested photocopies of all eligibility certificates are to be attached with admission form for admission to any course as per eligibility requirements.

 Documents to be attached for admission to any of the undergraduate courses.

  • SSLC Certificates /SSLC Detailed Mark Card. (Original & attested Photocopy)
  • + 2 Certificate / +2 DMC (Original & attested Photocopy )
  • Transfer Certificate & Conduct Certificate
  • Migration Certificate or Affidavit in lieu thereof
  • 6 Photographs (3 Passport size  & 3 Stamp size)

Documents to be attached for admission to any of the Master's Degree / Post Graduate Courses.

  • SSLC  Certificates /SSLC Detailed Mark Card. (Original & attested Photocopy
  • + 2 Certificate / +2 DMC (Original & attested Photocopy )
  • Transfer Certificate & Conduct Certificate
  • Degree or Provisional Certificates issued by the University
  • Migration certificate or Affidavit  in lieu thereof
  • 6 Photographs ( 3 passport size & 3 stamp size)

2. Attested copies of documents: Photocopy of the Certificates as mentioned above should be duly attested by any one of the following.

  • Gazetted Officer of any State / Central Government
  • Principal/ Director of any College/ Institute affiliated with any recognized University / Board.
  • Head of the University Teaching Department or AR/DR/Officer of recognized University.
  • Notarized from a Public Notary.

Declaration of Results/ Issue of Mark Cards

1. Examination results will be declared on the website of the Universities, followed by issue of the mark list. Candidate should keep the hall ticket for the examinations till the receipt of the marklists.

University reserves the right to withhold the result of any candidate in case of any enquiry, pending verification.

 PRACTICAL & THEORY CLASSES

Students are bound to attend all the theory and practical classes at the stipulated time & place as intimated from time to time without fail.

General Information

PAYMENT OF FEES

All fee/fines should be paid in time, as scheduled in the IIMS Calendar and Hand Book.
Fees should be paid only at the office cash counter and receipt should be collected immediately.
Those who fail to pay tuition fees on the stipulated date, will have to pay a fine of Rs.50/- on the second date for payment and Rs.100/- on the third date scheduled in the calendar.
Fee once paid in full or in part for a course will under no circumstances be refunded or adjusted to any other course or person.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

Facility for separate hostel accommodation is available for male and female students. An amount of Rs.3000/- should be paid as advance at the time of admission by those who seek hostel accommodation.

UNIFORM
All the students admitted to the Management courses will have to wear the prescribed uniform (details available from the office) on all specified days. Dhotis, Jeans and T-Shirts are not allowed. It is compulsory to wear full uniform on all days from Monday to Friday, failing which it will be considered as demerit.

EXAMINATION
Final examination will be conducted as per the university norms. Attendance for tests and examination is compulsory.
Any student taking more than 18 days in an year should pay a penalty of Rs. 100/- per day leave. Students who produce medical certificates will be exempted from leave for maximum 15 days.

STUDENTS DISCIPLINE / RULES & REGULATIONS

The student must maintain perfect discipline in the classrooms and in the campus at all times.Students are to note that smoking or consuming/use of any intoxicant of any form on the premises of the institute or at places of their training is strictly not allowed and will be met with severe punishment or even dismissal.

No student will be admitted to the institute unless his/her application for admission is duly countersigned by the parent/guardian.
Students, parents/guardians are to note that signing the Enrollment Form, is binding as an Agreement between the Institute and the student/parent/guardian, which cannot be disputed under any condition, for a refund of the fees paid. No request for refund will be considered. Hence it is requested that before enrollment, the Terms and Conditions of the Enrollment Form is read and understood fully.
Students, parents/guardians should note that a minimum attendance of 85% is absolutely necessary for a student to appear for the final examination. Students, who do not wish to attend classes on grounds other than physical illness, are to apply for applicable leave along with a written request from their parent/guardian.

Continuous absence for 15 days without any valid reason will lead to the removal of the candidate from the roll.
Students will be held responsible for any damage or loss of property on the institute's premises, or at places, where they have been sent for training.
All fee/fines should be paid in time and receipt obtained. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances and fees paid to the institution/hostel are not transferable.
The institution will not be held responsible for any damage to or loss of any valuables of the students, either in its premises, or elsewhere. The students are advised to avoid bringing expensive jewellery or other articles while attending classes.
Application for Admission to the course should be made in the prescribed form available along with the prospectus from the office for Rs.100/-. Cost of second application form is only Rs.25/-.

PUNJAB TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

It is one among the best ICT Enabled Universities in India.

Eligibility for B.Sc. HMCT

Eligibility documents:- Attested photocopies of all eligibility certificates are to be attached with admission form for admission to any course as per eligibility requirements.

Documents to be attached for admission to any of the undergraduate courses.

  • SSLC Certificates/SSLC Detailed Mark Card. (Original & attested photocopy)
  • +2 Certificate/ +2 DMC (Original & attested photocopy)
  • 10 passport size photographs with white background

FEE CONCESSION

Candidates taking more than one course at a time will be given a concession of 20% for the course with lower fees. Additional Registration fee is Rs.100/-.

PART TIME JOB
Indian Institute of Management Studies is arranging part time job for interested candidates who join for Hotel Management/ Professional Cookery courses. The part time job starts only after the class hours in which the student should go and work in different departments in reputed Hotels and Restaurants in and around Kochi. This job will provide them with free food, free accommodation and a monthly stipend that ranges from Rupees 400 to 1500.
The initial period of training will be tough, through which the student gets to learn practically about the industry. This training is continued throughout the course after which the students will be awarded an experience certificate, which will help them for permanent placement and better exposure.
The student should work according to the instructions given by the managers of the concern.
